I was struggling through a site migration when I had to reset my user password.
This command structure is good ONLY if you have direct access to your database.
Open Workbench and double-click the table name to have your WP table in bold. This means that table is the active table receiving the command.
For MySQL 5.7 and up the command structure is…
UPDATE database_name
.table_name
SET user_pass
= MD5(‘StringTextGoesHere’) WHERE (ID
= ‘123’);
And /boom/ – I was able to log in.
Obviously, you need to change the database_name , table_name , StringTextGoesHere , and ID number text.
Hope this helps!
