SunTrust trashes food, Thompson Building Wrecking Company re-routes to food bank.

AUGUSTA, GA: GOOD news regarding SunTrust’s attempt to deprive people of food – a trucking company has come to the aid of the poor and saved the food by re-routing the food to a food bank!

Quoted from the original news story (03-29-2013):  http://www.wfxg.com/story/21813129/food-bound-for-landfill-donated-to-food-bank-instead

We thought it would be a good thing to take the good material that was not going to perish, instead of just take it to the landfill that we would donate that material,” said the owner of Thompson Building Wrecking Company, Hiram Thompson.

This awesome man made Easter a bit easier for a food bank, still, shame on SunTrust Bank in Atlanta for trashing the food!  Sadly, cleaning supplies piled on top ruined a good portion of the food, but some hungry people will not be as hungry as soon as things are cleaned up and in good working order.

“Travis McNeal, the Executive Director for the Golden Harvest Food Bank, sorted through piles of chips, drinks and canned foods that were recovered from the Laney Supermarket Wednesday.”

Please take a moment and thank these heroic men who care about hungry people!
