Anonymous releases “How to take down a peaceful protest movement” warning

Anonymous released a warning to peaceful protesters, which was uploaded to PasteBin.

The idea is to watch out for embedded agents provocateur and undercover police tactics that are used to set protest movements up for dismantling by police for crimes and vandalism.

Here is a link to the PasteBin site and below the link is the full text. http://pastebin.com/YbbJTRSB

How to take down a peaceful protest movement using security culture and violence

1. First they say “don’t snitch”

This builds a community and a sense of safety. It creates the idea that your members should not
be held accountable for their actions outside of your group. It also allows a restriction on principles of
transparency.

This usually means telling the police, however it is important to note that they generally
include photographs or video of law breaking or civil disobedience.

At the early stage they don’t talk about destruction but rather civil disobedience
which we all accept as reasonable, and we then agree to not snitch.

2. They become your friend

You know them so well! There is no way they are a disrupter or infiltrator.
You have known them since the beginning of the movement and you trust
them, you would never turn them in and neither will your community.

This however does not mean they aren’t informants or infiltrators.
I’m not saying everyone is a cop, but be weary of those who push you
to do illegal and/or violent acts.

3. They say “vandalism is not violence”

They argue definitions with other protesters, they create the idea that some
people support vandalism as it is not violence. So as the community does not snitch,
when this person damages something you need to look the other way.

They say “no snitching remember!” when it comes to acts that
are destructive, but they argue “its not violence!”  Through this
security culture, people start to protect their movement over
their personal ideals.

4.  Final actions

At this point they can do a few different things to destroy you and the movement.

They will ask you to commit violence with them or state their intentions to commit violence

You have a few general choices

A) Leave the movement out of fear of the law or out of the fact that the movement
has moved in a direction you don’t agree with
B) Refuse to partake in the violence but stay involved, ultimately becoming an accessory
C) Agree to commit violence then promptly be arrested
D) Snitch on those who are about to engage in violence and be ostracized by your community.

Disclaimer:

This is one tactic to destroying a peaceful movement that has the potential for real change.
If we wish to create a new world that works for the 99% then we must admit that using
force of any kind perpetuates the methods of a broken system.

Only through communication and true open understanding will we have a new world.

Lets create a platform that allows people to comminucate and understand.
Not a money lending body, not a decision making body, but a place to talk about
why we feel certain things are the way they are.

Lets create a new platform to develop smaller communities where all are welcome.
Lets redefine what education means.

Lets start talking again and try to understand why people choose to live they way they do
and why they feel certain decisions are the right decision.

After we have an understanding, only then can we start to create a new system of
government whether its working with our current system or building a new one.
