Occupy AT&T – Photos – Feb 14 2012

I was at the Occupy AT&T rally to capture the moment – nobody likes layoffs except those who profit from them.  AT&T is laying off 740 workers after one CEO was paid $27M last year.  Here is the album of pictures.  Photo credit is to Amy Barnes.

More photos will be posted later today, probably around 10pm.Edit: Welcome to Sat. morning, there is one last batch of pictures and some videos to upload. Enjoy the pictures!  Comments and link-backs to this blog are appreciated.

Each picture is a link to its own page that has a set of comments / descriptions about what is going on.  If anyone has any names and groups that I can credit the pictures as including, please do not hesitate to comment!  If you want your comment withheld from public view, include an obviously fake URL in the comment and include a request for your comment to be deleted.  All URL comments are withheld for my review and approval to discourage spam abuse.

Thank you to all who leave behind comments!

  1. buy %%%%% in usa says:

OWS people, for the most part, are clueless and they are protesting the wrong thing. They’re clueless because they think Capitalism is evil and the root of the problem yet many people are selling OWS merchandise and the protesters are buying it blindlessly. Also the feeding stations are fed up with the homeless eating the food. Aren’t the homeless also part of the 99%, more so than those that decided to take a semester off of school? As far as protesting the wrong thing the OWS people should be at the White House and Capital buildings if they are so mad that banks and the financial firms keep getting bailed out and we the people get stuck with the bill, well… 53% of the people. The reason why the firms and banks get bailed out is because they all have politicians in their pockets and these politicians get to invest and trade with these firms which is basically insider trading. I mean c’mon… if i can set rules and regulations in a certain way and know about it before everybody else because i would instantly become rich. How do you think the majority of these politicians come into office as modest business people and become extremely wealthy in just a few short years? Yes, AAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL politicians do it. The big investment firms were and will continue to get bailed out as long as whatever politicians are invested.Question OWS crowd:is it the 1% you’re mad at, or the 1% whose autograph you don’t want?PROTEST THE REAL PROBLEM NOT THE PROPOGANDIZED PROBLEM

  2. Carol says:

US has military seeprnce in over 120 countries around the world. US arms and trains foreign soldiers (Fort Benning, Georgia for instance), who return home with that training and then used it to oppress and suppress movements for justice, democracy and economic fairness in those countries. They use the tactics of torture, coercion, and violence learned in the US. Our official declarations of support for democracy around the world are revealed to be hollow and hypocritical in that light. What is done to people elsewhere, is done to us. At home our police are becoming more and more militarized with high techtechnology and weaponry and given never before powers to stop and detain people. Privatized prisons drain public resources, trample on human rights, and cause undue suffering. We need to hold our government accountable for such deeds. And end US militarism.
